pi Analogue audio upgrade upcoming ?
« on: April 10, 2016, 05:24:50 AM »
Hi All. Have you perhaps noted this :
https://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=29&t=136445  ?

It seems the over vilified standard analogue audio output might get a new life for music lovers.
Audiophiles might not want to come to close to this if you really believe gold plated UTP does positively enhance your music experience.
But for anyone that also does listen to radio and just want to have general crisp sound this could drop the need for an external ( phat , hat , usb, breadboard ) DAC.

Can somebody see what is needed to get this new firmware code through picore in the GPU, and how to reach it though ALSA?
And then explain it a bit so I can start to get it tested ?
This is beyond my skills at this moment, however there are many of you who do see the benefits of squeezing the last bit of performance of our PI. So a picore test version of this firmware is a logical question ?

Regards Marcel

Hi, i Think you simply need to change (Update) the firmware files and the overlay files.
