Can't get X11 to run
« on: September 30, 2015, 08:18:38 AM »
I cannot get X11 to start and it just drops me back to the prompt at startup. So first I need to check my bootargs are correct.

The doco says to edit botched.src but I assume that should be ubootcmd.src.

My nozswap line (as per the instructions) is enclosed in single quotes terminated by a semi-colon. Do the added args listed in the doco go inside the single quotes?

Does the desktop = flow_topside statement go there as well or on a separate line or before the semi-colon ???

In short, what should that line actually look like. Once I confirm this I can keep trouble shooting.

The rest of the machine runs like a scalded cat.

Thanks again.

Are you using Xvesa, Xfbdev or Xorg?

desktop = flow_topside
That would be desktop=flwm_topside

I am using the importSCE commands as per the doco so it appears to be Xorg. Actually I know it is if only because the error logs are all over it.

flwm_topside (darned autocorrect....)
