Missing hda1
« on: April 21, 2011, 05:54:42 AM »
Ok so I installed TC on the hard drive of an old compaq notebook.  It boots fine, runs fine but only one problem, I can't see the drive that it booted from.  I pull up the mount tool and the only thing that shows up is the built in floppy drive, no hda1.  Its like the drive is there cuz it booted from it, but then it isn't when I try to find it (mainly for the tce folder and to edit the onboot.lst.  I type mount it doesn't show up., doesn't even seem to show up in fdisk -l.  Strange.  I tried looking for sda1 just in case it change since install, not there.  I do see a /hda1 off the root, i tried mounting it, no errors but nothing shows up either.  Any ideas?

The only barriers that can stop you are the ones you create yourself.

Have you looked under /mnt in the file manager?
Many people see what is. Some people see what can be, and make a difference.

I had a similar problem like you: http://forum.tinycorelinux.net/index.php?topic=9299.0

Did you install tiny core using the official hard disk installation guide? If so, consider a reinstall using the built-in USB/HD install wizard.
