OnDemand gives me permission error but Install works fine
« on: January 01, 2010, 05:07:33 PM »
Hello,

I am trying to use OnDemand but I get "Error: wget: can't open 'xyz': Permission denied" however installing the same package works fine. I am using these bootcodes in case it helps:  opt=sdb1 tce=sdb1 home=sdb1

Did you check permissions on /mnt/sdb1/tce ?

Check permission on .wmx in your home directory.

I don't have a /home/tc/.wmx?

The perms on /mnt/sdb1/tce are drwxr-xr-x

If you don't have .wmx then you are not running flwm or flwm_topside.
.wmx is the base directory for OnDemand items.

OnDemand is supported in flwm.  I believe it also works in LXDE.

Perhaps there is confusion with OnDemand button  in Appbrowser or ab.
In Appbrowser, hold your mouse over the OnDemand button and you will see that those extensions are downloaded into your tce/optional/  directory.

You can load from your tce/optional directory via Appbrowser's File -> Install Local menu item.
This works on all window managers.

Check permission on tce/optiona/ directory.

Oh I'm sorry, it didn't auto-complete when I tabbed and then I only looked for the file. The .wmx folder perms are quite open: drwxrwxr-x

However I am using OpenBox.
