With this app, TC could be turned into a very lightweight trading station, (and without sharing the data flow and interruptions of all the MSWindows processes). TC could also be set up as dedicated trading station, where only the scripts and apps supporting this high-speed trading task would be active on a given workstation, and all its actions in RAM only, loaded pristine from CD/USB daily.

It could be fed by free End-of-Day data from Yahoo; or nearly free realtime Java tic data (including practice data) from Interactive Brokers, etc.

Since I'm migrating from DSL, I've gotten used to using the Monkey web server. 

To use Monkey with TinyCore, would I have to compile from source, or could I just take the dsl extension, change the suffix from .dsl to .tar.gz, and figure out where all the pieces go from that?


I suppose I COULD just learn to use a different web server.  Naaaah....

The .dsl extension will not work with TC.

You can try and use apache or lighttpd. I use lighttpd since it is small, just google for 'lighttpd config' to get information about the config file then just `sudo lighttpd -f /path/to/config/file` will start the server

Funny you should ask. I just compiled this yesterday and am in the process of testing it out before submitting.

We will need a new extension after rsync was removed from TC 2.5.

Otherwise grsync is a GUI wrapper without the "worker".

I have a request:

gtk-doc (also will require DocBook XSL Stylesheets - these are not included in the docbook_xml_dtd.tcz extension)

This is needed for building some gnome apps.
