mount after downloading an extension fails
« on: February 01, 2021, 04:59:15 AM »
Hello,
I am trying to install firefox extension so I can do some browsing tests. I downloaded the "firefox_getLatest.sh" from the app browser. I run the script, it downloaded all the files and ended with a mount error. When I try to load the extension locally via the app browser, it ends with the same error.

It's a brand new TC installation and it's the first time I am actually trying to install anything on it.

I have searched through the forum and found http://forum.tinycorelinux.net/index.php?topic=9832.0, but the Wiki links in there don't seem to work. The page asks me for a login and won't let me in.

Any ideas?

Thank you

What mount error do you get? Are you running out of ram?

If you’re using x86_64, you could try firefox-ESR instead.

Hello, you can see the error in the "image 060" screenshot. It's
"mount: mounting /dev/loop81 pm /tmp/tcloop/firefox failed: Invalid argument".

I should probably say I am running TC on VMWare Workstation Pro. 1GB HDD, 512MB RAM and 2vCPU.

Edit: ESR got installed without a hitch. I wish I thought about that before I spent hours troubleshooting it. Still not sure why the "normal" FF had an issue with the mount.
