yes, but the part trying to load rtl_nic/rtl8168e-3.fw is what is required:
Code: [Select]
$ dmesg | grep rtl

rtl - means realtek. I have Realtek Gigabit Lan onboard. eth0 works fine.
Problem is in RALINK wireless usb adapter.
Do you think TinyCore try to apply REALTEK drivers to RALINK chip?  :)

Interesting thing. firmware-ralinkwifi.tcz is loaded, but
Code: [Select]
modprobe -l | grep ralinkshows nothing.

Caveat: my usage is under piCore not TCL x86 but...

I think you want

Code: [Select]
$ dmesg | grep rt2
I have a 5370 running under piCore and its drivers and firmware blob are all rt2x00/rt2800

No GUI I'm afraid, but simply having: firmware-ralinkwifi.tcz & wifi.tcz in onboot.lis then running 'sudo wifi.sh' is all it takes to get a connection (an IP address listed in ifconfig).

What are your symptoms of 'there is no effect'?

We don't appear to have any drivers loaded for the device.  Installing wifi.tcz and dependencies in onboot.lst should fix that

Ok. Here is another PC, and CorePure64.

Code: [Select]
dmesg | grep rtl
r8169 0000:02:00.0: Direct firmware load for rtl_nic/rtl8168e-3.fw failed with error -2
r8169 0000:02:00.0 eth0: unable to load firmware patch rtl_nic/rtl8168e-3.fw (-11)

r8169 0000:03:00.0 eth1: unable to load firmware patch rtl_nic/rtl8168e-3.fw (-11)

wifi.tcz installed. Nothing changed. After plugging in my wi-fi adapter i see:

wifi.tcz
firmware-ralinkwifi.tcz

Quote
r8169
is your Ethernet device, please post the relevant output from dmesg indicating the error the driver is experiencing thanks
Try
Code: [Select]
dmesg | tail 20

The 'r8169 unable to load firmware patch rtl_nic/rtl8168e-3.fw' and everything to do with rtl and Realtek are almost certainly a red herring. Your PC will have a physical RJ45 LAN connection using a Realtek chipset which doesn't need the firmware blob the kernel tries to push to it.

Your RT5370 wifi dongle is a Ralink device, nothing to do with Realtek, rtl or r8169. The Ralink wifi drivers will begin rt2 not rtl.

Sadly looking at the USB errors in your last post, it looks like you have a hardware fault, almost certainly the wifi dongle if you've tried it in 2 PCs, unless there's another common part to eliminate like a USB hub. Does this device work under another OS, dare I suggest Windows.

I have 2xGbit Realtek LAN on my server. There is another USB-LAN adapter. They all are working perfect.
Problem is in usb-wifi adapter on RALINK 5370 chip.
Yes, this adapter works with Windows, Alpine Linux, ArmBian. But on TinyCore it fail.
I have installed wifi.tcz and firmware-ralinkwifi.tcz, so now after plugging in adapter appear just one line:
Code: [Select]
usb 2-4: new high-speed USB device number 93 using xhci_hcdBut it still not working.

Code: [Select]
dmesg | tail 20
tail: can't open '20': No such file or directory
tail: no files

Code: [Select]
lsusb -t
