ethernet socket
« on: March 03, 2016, 12:53:55 PM »
hello

it seems that the ethernet socket (CHIP) may have failed in my laptop
here.

THat being the case, is it possible to use one of these cheap USB to ethernet
adapters with tinycore?  (99 cents) ebay

it does say that the adapter supports Linux.....and as far as i know the
adapter works by slotting into a USB socket and (at least on win32) windows
sees an extra ethernet socket in it's device manager.

would it work in a similar manner on Linux?  (the CD appears to contain a Linux driver)

V

Yes, most of those work just plugging in.
The only barriers that can stop you are the ones you create yourself.
