Hello,
I think remedy'ing the 2038 unix millenium bug is somehow possible....
1).....could you not schedule the OS to do things..... by giving it the opportunity to schedule FUTURE FAKE TIME's from the OS scheduler software?.....this would stave off the problem for a while....each time...
2) Then get the application's and tools in question (and the system) checked for the inevitable outcomes of the time errors. (the bug)..resulting from 1) above....
3)Look at the magnitude of those errors and make sure to repair them before the OS defaults back to REALTIME.
4) Later, repeat steps 1) to 3) ....with the newer conceived solution of 3) (steady system) created from the previous iteration. (do this within a NEW future scheduled "sooner" time) .....thus consistenty reducing this 2038 bug (error thing) via a cyclical software program to DO JUST THAT.
No doubt this will be complicated "realtime" programming. I know the satellite systems developers
and mission critical software developers are capable of this realtime software tool creation.
