Wanted a servoblaster.ko in repo
« on: August 06, 2013, 02:45:26 AM »
Hi bmarkus

I have used picore for a while, And I want try my servo with wiringpi, and find servoblaster (ko) is a better way. (It will drive 8 servos.)

Now I wanted to enable servoblaster  support. Can you compile it in kernel tree or send a servoblaster.tcz something in repo?

Cheers,
cattail

I do not know servoblaster. DO you have a reference to it?

I found it:

https://github.com/richardghirst/PiBits/tree/master/ServoBlaster

Unfortunately I'm limited in resorces so I can't build it and no hw to test. However you can do it yourself and can try the user space version which is easier to build.

 Thanks bmarkus.
I tested it in raspbian with a servoblaster compiled ko , I only have a 5V servo , and unfortunately havn't driver it success in 3.3V GPIO for now, I'll use user space app (daemon) for more test first ...

User space servod  is good , output gpio 3.3V can drive 5V servo moto.
use servoblaster  can  use up to 8 servos at a time .
(I have only 2 in my hand for testing.)

Servo power(4.8--6V) must another one, with GND connected with RaspberryPi's GND.

Great! Can you create .tcz for repo addition?

Hi bmarkus

I have search wiki for howto tcz, will try  tcztools and no lucky(I guess cauze GFW ),can you add tcztools in reply?
http://code.google.com/p/tcztools/

I have't master to make any tcz yet , I want to some slim tools tcz in repo, see

For now I use make , get "servod" in path, and tested PWM mode, ok.
PCM mode , not full tested yet, only tested one servo .

For sure I will help to create it. You know the Chinese saying
