There is not File manager (FileMgr - fluff) in TC 3.7.1 !?!

I upgraded to TC 3.7.1 an found there is not file manager at all (FileMgr, neither fluff).
I tried burn .iso  live cd as well, but  with same result.
It is true there is not file manager in new TC?
I think file manager is most important thing in operating system.
Why it is cut off???
I would rather miss some tools like screen shot or wallpaper
not FM.

I believe the general consensus was that fluff was getting a little too large to be in the base.

Fluff and many other file managers are available as extensions just a download away.

..and the cli works well in the base

Fluff is too big? I think it has some kB in app browser!
Terminal is great instrument, but less convenient. (situation when booting base from usb, without conection).

you can just install a "file manager" from the apps database.

I installed "Rox Filer" which works fine.

Fluff has 64 kB.  It doesn't look like too big files.
There must be something more why it was  fired...

It wasn't fired.
It is installable using AppBrowser, just like any other extension,
It is just no longer included in base as the development cycle did not match up with the
Tiny Core development cycle, it is getting bigger, and it is one choice among many.

I want only say  it's a shame that fluff isn`t included in the base.
Fluff seems to me quite small nice and useful.
If somebody new booting TC base, he could be confused and asking "how can I find and see my files?".
I know how terminal (appbrowser) use, but somebody (beginner) not...

I agree. I liked having Fluff in the TCB. But if the powers-that-be are determined to ditch Fluff, they should include some other file manager. Perhaps MC--though it is less intuitive to use than Fluff, I think.

The latest Fluff was actually about 120KB plus a little documentation and was considered big compared to other things in Tiny Core base.  I've prototyped another smaller, simpler file manager "DirWin" that is about 55KB.  Perhaps that one will be considered for inclusion in TC base some day.  Check the "Programming" subforum for more discussion on this.

I also support the general feeling of frustration that there is no basic file manager in the base. This is a usefull tool when you are trying to set things up or generally navigate around the system.

I know that you can load a file manager from the repository, but that is not the point. You need the base to be basically usefull before connecting to the internet. I do not see what the drama is with size. If the base was 12MB these days rather than 10+MB it wouldn't mater a toss to anyone, I wouldn't have thought.

Please bring back a basic file manager soon.
