Atto editor for TC17.x86-64
« on: October 29, 2026, 05:17:03 PM »
Hi!

NetBSD just added this tiny Emacs-style editor to its base system and I could not find it for TC17.x86-64.

Given it contains useful features despite its small size, it could be interesting for TC.

Nice find - installed it this morning on a spare TC17 x86-64 box and it starts instantly with no extra deps, which is exactly what I want on a machine that boots from a small partition. The Emacs-ish keys took me about ten minutes to get used to, and now I use it instead of nano for config edits. Thanks for getting it into the repo so quickly.

I'm liking this!  While I have a commercial editor that I use on my daily driver, this is going into my tool kit for everywhere else.  I'm in the habit of keeping zile on hand but this, with its small size and lack of dependencies is nice.

Thanks to amplefiction for suggesting it and to juanito packaging it up.
