I have a copy of tinycommander since it came up in discussion here on the forum recently.  I doubt it will become my goto fm, but it will bear some looking into from a scripting POV - nothing like snarfing good ideas from someone else's scripts (I absolutely love the argument parsing piece in /etc/init.d/tc-config !)

fm.awk looks interesting but, again more likely as a learning tool than a day-to-day file handling utility - I'm very much a noob with awk.

I've invested a goodly few brain cells in tweaking emelfm2 to my liking and certain of my tweaks don't seem to be possible (or at least not convenient) in any of the other file managers available in the repo.  So I'll stick with it as long as I reasonably can, especially now that It is behaving a little better for me.   fluff is my next favorite of the currently available fm candidates, followed, surprisingly enough, by the epsilon text editor.

indeed
++nothing like
a working (in some contexts) implementation to get a different perspective of the "problem space"
...( with out resorting to convoluted vector benching via gpu's etc )

/usr/bin/tce was next on my to view list
so i just
Code: [Select]
less $(which tce) and tbh i had to double take , what little there is of core scripts are redefining the art  of minimalism ( at least for me )

currently im comparing
key-press methods from fm.awk and

\ot
in an attempt to prototype a(cli &perhaps web) mock-up of SimonSchubert/LinuxCommandLibrary 'Kotlin'-"app" (sans artificial and cryp-toe's .md data )
  :s .. between distractions!..

So I'll stick with it as long as I reasonably can, especially now that It is behaving a little better for me.

"Don't change horses"  as the say !
