xmms alsa plugin
« on: June 18, 2009, 06:55:04 AM »
The xmms extension will work with oss and alsa via the oss plugin as long as the appropriate alsa-oss modules are loaded, but it will not work with, for example, bluetooth headsets because this requires the alsa plug in.

Would it be possible to recompile xmms with the alsa plugin - presumably this will not stop xmms from starting if alsa is not present?

What if the headset was configured as the primary sound card? Wouldn't OSS sound then go there by default?
The only barriers that can stop you are the ones you create yourself.

In the days of bluez-3.x you could do this - with bluez-4.x I'm not so sure...

Xmms is rebuilt and uploaded with alsa plugin support.  Works here with either alsa or OSS installed.
