Hi xor
If you follow the link that Juanito provided you will see that Sashank999 is working on it.
-
Hi @xor
I have the minigalaxy compiled. But the extension python-requests needs to be added to the repo so that I can include it as dependency of minigalaxy.
I have already sent python-requests to tcesubmit_at_gmail_dot_com .
-
Thx

@xor
I compiled a minigalaxy package. Try to test it.

my system is currently running on 64-bit!
Doesn't show up in 64-bit store!

Well, you didn't specify the arch. Wait and I will compile for 64 bit. LOL I should now download 64 bit tczs and 64 bit kernel and initrd.

report;
* 64-bit application; OK
* password verification; OK
* download games; OK

2. as a subject;
Can you create steam.tcz !?

Hi Sashank999
I'm going to try to save you some trouble:
... Can you create steam.tcz !? ...
He keeps asking for this even though he's been told multiple times it will not run on Tinycore:
As has been said several times, unless something changed recently, steam requires a 32/64bit multi-lib system.
Tinycore does not have a multi-lib option.
Just wanted to give you a heads up as to why it won't work.
-
memorization is broken
https://repo.steampowered.com/steam/archive/precise/?C=M&O=D
if you look here carefully
you will find that there are 32-bit steam package distributions alone.
briefly steam's own official content page and contents are up to date

The last time I tried, steam 64-bit required some 32-bit apps/libs and steam 32-bit required some 64-bit apps/libs..

Hi Rich,
I am thinking multilib as a way to run the apps/libs of 32bit on 64 bit or vice versa.
But may I know why is multilib not available for tinycore ?
If it is due to not compiling it, I can compile it.
-
It is a system-level config thing, which adds complexity to the entire system. We don't want to support that. You would need to recompile the entire base, basically.

* older 32-bit applications are now available with open source 64-bit patch updates (32-bit not required)
* I want the 64 bit steam version to be created for TCL.
and also
* All linux distributions support steam.
in my own country; when I recommend TCL to my close circle
more than half asked if they were running steam.

Steam for Linux Client
This is the README for the Steam for Linux client.
Hardware and Software Requirements
Steam for Linux requires the following:
1 GHz Pentium 4 or AMD Opteron with:
x86-64 (AMD64) instruction set
CMPXCHG16B instruction support (cx16 in /proc/cpuinfo flags)
SSE3 instruction support (pni in /proc/cpuinfo flags)
512 megabytes of RAM and 5 gigabytes of hard drive space, or better
Internet connection (Cable/DSL speeds recommended)
Latest Ubuntu LTS, fully updated
64-bit (x86-64, AMD64) Linux kernel
64-bit (x86-64, AMD64) and 32-bit (i386, IA32) graphics drivers and glibc
...
So you will need to convince either:
* steam to build a pure 64-bit version
or
* somebody to build a 32/64-bit multilib fork of tinycore

Hi Juanito,
If it has a configure script, we could trick that script and make it install Steam for us.
Well, I don't find a source so that I can have configure.
-
steam is a platform with a wide range of targets,
one of its goals (the most confusing point)
especially tries to run windows games (wine) for linux.
in this respect for 32-bit windows applications on 64-bit linux
as it needs 32-bit linux libraries. !!!
but on the other hand, what i notice
with native linux patch packages for applications
even 32-bit windows games before
wine and its derivatives are not needed.
To summarize; For the steam 64-bit client to work
32-bit library is not required.
My only request is to ask you to create the 64-bit platform configuration.
Applications that are 32-bit have the option of using github-style open source 64-bit patches.

GOG GALAXY 2.0 is now enhanced with Epic Games Store official integration
https://www.gog.com/forum/general_beta_gog_galaxy_2.0/gog_galaxy_20_is_now_enhanced_with_epic_games_store_official_integration
steam; trying to play old dumps with wine.
epic games; It seems to support real linux games with "unreal" which is a Linux supported game engine. :)

I guess the old version in TCL repository needs to be updated.

From the error message, it look like either the locale you are using is not supported or you need to set a locale?
Edit: It seems to work without any locale set, i.e. using the default C locale.

new Releases Minigalaxy version 1.0.2 Latest Jan 14, 2021
https://github.com/sharkwouter/minigalaxy
I see that on the current page (new version) it supports my local language
Turkish :)
please update the version in the minigalaxy.tcz app library?!
-
You will need to send a private message to the minigalaxy extension maintainer @Sashank999
-
Hi xor
... I see that on the current page (new version) it supports my local language
Turkish :) ...
So does version 0.9.4 which contains /usr/local/share/minigalaxy/translations/tr/LC_MESSAGES/minigalaxy.mo:
http://tinycorelinux.net/12.x/x86_64/tcz/minigalaxy.tcz.list
-
The issue might be that there are no files in /usr/local/share/locale?

https://github.com/sharkwouter/minigalaxy/releases/download/1.0.2/minigalaxy_1.0.2_all.deb
How can I open and run this file !?

Hi xor
You can unpack it like this:
ar -x minigalaxy_1.0.2_all.deb

I’ve used Minigalaxy on a couple of older laptops, and it’s one of those tools that “just works” without pulling in a ton of dependencies. The interface is bare-bones, but that’s exactly why I like it install, update, play, and nothing extra running in the background. It handles DRM-free titles really well, and I’ve rarely had issues with downloads or launching games, even on lightweight distros.
If you mainly stick to GOG and don’t need all the Galaxy features, it’s honestly a solid choice. The only thing to keep in mind is that some games still need manual tweaks, but that comes with Linux gaming in general.
-
What version and what architecture of tinycore are you making the request for?
I gave minigalaxy a quick go on piCore64 - so far it needs python-requests, libnotify-gir and webkitgtk4-gir, but then it hangs because I don't have a locale set.

If you re comparing prices for games before grabbing them on GOG, sometimes it helps to check multiple sources, https://cdkeyprices.uk
can be handy for that. It’s basically just a quick way to see where a title is cheaper.
