« on: June 07, 2011, 08:13:42 AM »
when i boot from the cd i get a very very dull screen. its very difficult to see what im doing. to see in full brightness i need to boot as xvesa 800x600x32. i would prefer 1024x768. but when i try to change the resolution it wont give me anything better than 800x600.

If you have intel hardware you can try the 915resolution extension - otherwise you could look at Xorg-7.5

How much graphics card memory?
Have you tried 1024x768x15 and 1024x768x16?
