[Solved] I need to change double click to single click
« on: May 27, 2011, 11:42:21 AM »
Edit. I solved it but don't ask how. I edited Mouse until it just behaved as I wanted it.

Mouse is about in the middle of Panel.
old text

As it is by default it needs me to do double I need to change double click to single click instead.
The reason is rather embarrassing. I fail to click that fast and I am used to single click. It is my preferred way to do things on a computer.

I have looked in FAQ and in Wiki and using search in the forum and used google search too.

I did not find any description on how to change it. I tested to look for it in the OS too but did not know where to look.

It is app-specific, there is no one toggle.
The only barriers that can stop you are the ones you create yourself.

Thanks curaga I didn't realize it was that complicated.

Well how does one know the name on something Fluff is one such app I use.

I get back and find out if there is some other app but Fluff how does one know how to change that one then? Should I look at their sourcefoge page or something. is it so unusual that it needs such special treatment I make a test and get back in a moment.

Nope it did not have its own such page.
in the Help there Michael A Losh suggest one do ask at Tinycore forum.
I guess him is member here then?

If I need to change a config file for Fluff where are them placed within TinyCore?

Mike is a member here, and fluff's config file is in your home dir. But I don't think fluff as is has such an option, many apps don't.

Thanks for the info but to not be able to change that would be sad indeed.
I fail again and again to do it as fast as required. Can one do a workaround maybe.

do right click and then click on nope that did not work. It gave other options but not to go to that place.

Can one change how fast one need to do the double click then?

Something very odd did happen after me tried to change the Mouse speed. I changed from 3 to 1 and thought that maybe changed the speed. Then I thought I had to do the same for the Right click on the mouse too.

After clicking apply the mouse buttons change place and allowed for single click.

Sigh

finally repaired it and even managed to get Single click globally I think.

But I have no idea how I did it! Just using trial and error until it worked.
I mean that was totally unexpected was it not?

and it seems globally applied even here in Firefox. So now I need to find out to only change to single click and not to change place of what is left and right.

Could be that I did a double click on the Desktop. maybe that alternate it something? I have no idea how it did happen.

Hahaha I need to use the right click to drag the drag thing to the right scroll bar? and right click to edit.

Nothing in the Mouse menu told me that would be the result if using it.

I managed to repair some of the changes but not all.
