can anyone take a look at the tuxguitar files and tell me what i need to install in order for it to work?

it has the java sound api included but for some reason it doesn't start
in puppy it works, in debian and ubuntu it rarely shows
and if you manage to find out how to make the java sound work it would be cool to make an extension so others won't bump into this problem
in my current ubuntu install it doesn't show up but in the past i do recall it working (rarely)
however it never fails to work in puppy which i find kind of strange
