openoffice3 on TC3.4.1 - crash on file open
« on: January 31, 2011, 10:12:04 PM »
Anyone else have trouble with oo3 since upgrading to 3.4.1?

I recently upgraded to 3.4.1, then used the tce-update script to update all my extensions. oo3 is now very whiny - it crashes out irregularly, especially if I use File->Open or File->New. Cryptic, un-useful CLI error:

terminate called after throwing instance of 'com::sun::star::lang::WrappedTargetRuntimeException'

I imagine I've turned the dependencies into version cheese. I'll reinstall & test some more and see if i can get better details.

Welcome to other suggestions.

Are you talking about the new LibreOffice3.3 Final (2011-01-25)?

A new free derivation of OpenOffice3

yes exactly :)

actually go-oo (ooo-build) is abandoned in favour of libreoffice because oracle company bought sun micro systems who owns the openoffice3 brand

Thanks for mentioning LibreOffice - I hadn't heard about the Oracle/Sun and OO/Libre changeovers.

Once LibreOffice is done (thanks, Arlan!) Can we get a mention added in the oo2/openoffice3 extension info files?

oo2 still seems to work, but a freshly-downloaded openoffice3.tcz still crashed on base/norestore 3.4.1. :\

I'll get LO.

it is actually done just waiting for submission  :P

openoffice3.tcz is go-oo.org variant based on original openoffice.org which is now libreoffice so it does not need to remain in the repository because libreoffice is provides the same and i can't maintain an old version
maybe there can be an original openoffice.org extension but since libreoffice > openoffice.org why have it installed instead of libreoffice ?
