The Puppy Linux Xorg configurator?

I know, I know, it may not be practical -- but the Puppy Linux 4.3.* Xorg configurator really worked well for a tremendous variety of hardware.

Don't know for sure, but IIRC the X server version in Puppy 4.3 could possibly be a fair bit older then the one availabel via the 'Xorg-7.5.tcz' extension for TC 3.x (e.g. like "X Window System Version 1.3.0, Release Date: 19 April 2007" vs. "X.Org X Server 1.7.7, Release Date: 2010-05-04").

I could be wrong but the automatic HW detection leading to confless mode might have been improved a fair bit since then. So what problem are you actually trying to address with your comment?
