intel video card problem
« on: January 05, 2011, 12:50:47 PM »
Hi
I've this laptop: dell latitude e6410 with an intel ironlake/m chipset video.
lspci shows:
00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation Arrandale Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 02)

If I attach an external monitor to the vga port 3d works, while with the laptop monitor when  the graphics-2.6.33.3-tinycore.tcz is loaded the screen goes black and return ok only when xorg starts and in Xorg.conf the vesa driver is specified.
If in the xorg.conf I specify intel or I remove xorg.conf the screen remains black.
I repeat no problems with an external monitor.
With the external monitor I notice that the resolution changes during boot time after loading graphics-2.6.33.3-tinycore.tcz.
I've tried to add i916.modeset=1 to and vga=792 to the boot line.
I'm attaching dmesg and Xorg.0.log

It is too new, seems it was released after our kernel.
The only barriers that can stop you are the ones you create yourself.
