NEWB Help!!
« on: December 28, 2010, 04:35:38 PM »
I am trying to determine if tinycore is right for my project. I am using linux with virtualbox and installing tinycore onto the virtualbox.

I followed all the steps here: http://www.tinycorelinux.com/install.html

I can reboot into it without the iso mounted and it boots into TC just fine.

My issue is I can pull up the Apps app from the toolbar and click Connect, then select Dillo. 1st off I see no Install button which is shown in all of the tutorials, second if i select it and choose Go (not changing the drop down) it says OK, but I do not see Dillo in the toolbar nor can I manually launch it.

PLEASE HELP!!!!

If you are downloading it correctly, it needs to be On Boot or On Demand. This can be selected before downloading.

If you have already downloaded it without On Boot or On Demand selected, open Apps Audit, select On Boot -> Maintenance, or On Demand -> Maintenance, and click on the application - in the left column. Only select applications, not dependencies.
Many people see what is. Some people see what can be, and make a difference.

I have tried both onBoot and onDemand.

Whenever I try to install it, it tells me Opera FAILED.

Any suggestions? Is there a log somewhere?

I also just found out I will need this for the ARM-9 processor. Does tinycore have an ARM build?
