Aterm - copy/paste - to/from - GUI application
« on: November 08, 2010, 03:03:39 PM »
Aterm uses high-lighting to copy, and Shift-Insert to paste.
( Laptop does not have a middle-button, nor can you use Left+Right at the same time).

GUI applications have the clipboard using Control X,C,V for Cut, Copy, and Paste.

Is there a way to get Aterm to use the clipboard ?   Maybe a script ?

ADDED:-----------------------
FireFox does it !    You can Copy text using FireFox copy command ( or ctl-C ).
Then paste into Aterm with Shift-Insert,  and/or paste into any GUI app.

If using Aterm is optional in this instance it might be worth having a look at alternatives.

Evilvte, Lilyterm, and Sakura are in the TC3 repo.  If you are using GUI apps currently, it may be that you are already loading some of the dependencies of the alternative terminal emulators, if so their extra requirements may be quite marginal.

I recently tried Lilyterm and found some scripts which work fine in Aterm, fail in Lilyterm.   Scratch that one.

I try the other two.   Anyone else ???

Scripts are run by the shell, not the term.
