laptop-mode-tools requires mii-tool?
« on: October 12, 2010, 04:43:39 PM »
Has anyone successfully used laptop-mode-tools.tcz without it complaining about dependencies (I fixed the setterm dependency)? Have you worked around the requirement for mii-tool (e.g. does ethtool quiet down laptop-mode-tools)?

TIA

If you think there is a problem, you haved to tell us what version you are running, what program exihibits the problem, and what the error is that you are seeing.

It works for me, together with acpid and cpufreq - I only use it to shut down the hd when not required.

I'll have to post more detail when I'm at the machine.  I was using tcl 3.1 and starting up laptop mode tools when it would give errors about missing dependencies.

If all I care about is spinning down the hard drive after a certain period of time, am I better off just installing hdparm and using "hdparm -S<time> /dev/hda"?
