roberts:
Heads up testing 3.1 rc3 with exittc.

Currently the choice widget of None/Backup/Safe is only being supported as a display box.

That is to say, if you have booted with 'safebackup' it works.
If you do not presently use a backup, i.e., ENV variable BACKUP=0 and therefore None is displayed it works. Whatever is displayed works. But trying to change what is currently displayed is ignored. It is operating only as a display.

I have since corrected this to allow dynamic one-time backup choices to be active. It will be in 3.1 final.

So, please, test carefully.

Could not reproduce. My test consisted of using appbrowser to "download + load" gtkfind.tcz.
Icon appeared in wbar. Rebooted. No icon as not loaded as expected. Then used appbrowser to "Local Local" gtkfind. Icon appeared as expected.

I will need more detailed information to proceed.

OK, after several hours of testing, I found it.

I use a sudo Xorg -config statement in .xsession which causes this difference in behaviour. Other icon behaviour from OnDemand is not affected, only the tce-load -i /-wil is affected. If I remove sudo, it works. I need the sudo to point to xorg.conf.

@jur:

Why not store xorg.conf in the standard path, so that the server trusts it and you don't have to run it as root?

jur:
Yeah I used to have that and it isn't a massive problem of course to revert back to that; except it does leave this unexplained behaviour dangling. If you are comfortable with why it happens, then it is of course fine. :)
