Adding a Note to and Existing PDF

Is it possible to add a note to an existing PDF document using anything in the TC3 repository?

The type of thing I am after is built into the full Adobe app. It creates a small yellow icon on the document which when clicked opens a free-text box.  I may be mistaken, but I have have a vague memory that it was possible using the (Windows) freeware version of Foxit Reader but cannot find a similar function in the Linux version of the present extension.

you mean filling pdf forms ?

evince has the support for filling pdf forms

okular in kdegraphics can fill pdf forms too but very huge dep list kdegraphics has, in this case evince is the optimal solution for you

also openoffice3 can edit pdf files

Not a form filler, it is an ability to add a free-form note which collapses to leave an icon on the PDF page to indicate its location.  Its also not editing the content of the existing page.

The function goes under various titles depending upon the app:

• In Acrobat (Full) it is known as Note
• In PDF-XChange Viewer it is known as Sticky Note Tool
• In Foxit Reader it is known as Note Tool

is it called "annotations" ? okular has some annotations like adding note, hilighting text, drawing etc. for reviewing pdf documents

How does one start Okular?

kdegraphics has been installed (lots of deps as you mentioned).

Control Panel->Run->okular   generates an error message, "Unable to find the Okular component" and fails to load.

No entry has been added to the menu.

I'm afraid I cannot continue this line as kdegraphics + dependencies are too large for the storage space available.  A windows based solution is available presently and will have to do until I can find a more suitable Linux based answer.

Arslan S. - thanks for your suggestions, but I will just have to 'chalk this one up to experience' (English colloquial saying).

Previously in the thread I mentioned that the function is in the Windows version of Foxit Reader but not in the Linux one.
