Appbrowser search may be quirky?
« on: August 07, 2010, 05:17:13 PM »
Hi

When I do a search for something I can get some unusual results at the top of the left pane.

eg
search-term=open.....first hit is GConf....I have to scroll down a fair way to get to the tczs.....starting with open.

Another example is ...oss

Closer to the top is OSS* stuff but I have to scroll down to ossxmix.

I was hoping the search might display "relevance" at the top....or change the  code to a first part of string type search.

BTW I have no programming skills so have no idea how hard that might be...so consider it a request if someone agrees the search needs some tweaking please.

Mods feel free to move if in wrong forum please.

regards

It is actually the .info files that are being searched and not the extension names. So using very common words such as "open" will return many many results.  That is not to say that improvements are always possible but instead to explain how it currently works.
