numlockx on TCL?
« on: June 30, 2010, 07:39:24 PM »
Hi again,

I've packaged a new extension for TCL2.x called "numlockx" (http://ktown.kde.org/~seli/numlockx/)
which makes your X (I'm not using X, only Xvesa) start with NumLock "on".

But when TCL desktop gets started, calling "/usr/loca/bin/numlockx" in ".X.d/numlockx" doesn't turn "on"
my numpad.

Could someone help me understand the problem?

Regards
Zab

Does the executable work correctly when called from the command line (i.e. not using the ".X.d mechanism")?

Unfortunately no, it doesn't.
But it works on all my other Linux boxes (Ubuntu & Fedora)

There may be differences in the xserver being used.

TC uses Xvesa, whereas typical distros use a full X server package (most likely Xorg).
I think there has been LED issues, so that may be related to this problem.
