When doing a check for updates in AppsAudit, the window freezes for a very long time, like 10-20 minutes (although I have never actually timed it). This seems extraordinarily long.
Likewise update dep files is a never-ending wait.
Build reporting database can also take quite long, many many minutes although sometimes it is OK.
The weird thing is, the average internet data speed during these operations is very low, 1kb/s or something like that, according to the gauge I have running on Conky. Conversely, when downloading big apps, download speed can go to 500kB/s. So I have the bandwidth but tc-update is sloooooooow.
Are these observations commonplace?
Seems to me it would be advantageous to have a dep db file that can be downloaded, and compared locally very quickly.
