Is such kmap available in other distros? Is it missing just in TC or overall?

This might help:

http://linux.thai.net/pub/thailinux/cvs/software/thai-console-data/keymaps/

Now all you need is someone to make an extension of it or add it to kmaps.tcz

Not me... ;D

I see now that it seems that busybox needs it in binary format...
Code: [Select]
Title:          kmaps.tcz
Description:    All keymaps from kbd-1.14.1 converted kmaps
Version:        1.15.1
Author:         Various
Original-site:  ftp://ftp.altlinux.com/pub/people/legion/kbd/kbd-1.14.1.tar.gz
Copying-policy: GPL
Size: 120K
Extension_by:   Curaga
Comments:       All keymaps available in kbd-1.15.1 converted to the
binary kmap format used in Busybox.
Change-log:     2008/07/05 - First version
Current:        2010/01/31 - Update to 1.15.1

Nothing is ever as easy as it looks. ;D

Added on my todo list.

edit: If you're only looking for the right keymap when in X, you could install Xorg. It uses different keymaps from the console/Xvesa, and includes a lot more. Seems to have a thai keymap as well.

Option      "XkbLayout" "th"

Two thai keymaps added.

# Thai/Eng mode toggle by Left-Alt+Shift
# Single Thai Character can be type by Hole Right-Alt (Shift) + Character

Hi:
I installed keymap extension and booted with the german keyboard option. Everything now works OK exept:

The Umlauts  ( ae = ä) and so forth Ae = Ä

Can I ad these Umlaus by myself?

Have a good day

did you use de-latin1.kmap? ä, ö, ü have been working all the time for me like on a normal keyboard...

The info above, left-alt and shift, is only valid in the console. In X it could be something different.

I'm not familiar with the problem, but google gives this:
http://linux.thai.net/~thep/thai-howto/thai-howto.html

Quote
Section "InputDevice"
     ...
     Option "XkbLayout" "us,th"
     Option "XkbVariant" "basic,tis"
     Option "XkbOptions" "grp:alt_shift_toggle,lv3:ralt_switch,grp_led:scroll"
     ...
  EndSection
Language switching: Alt-Shift
Level 3 shift: Right-Alt
The only barriers that can stop you are the ones you create yourself.
