I'm confused over the following situation.  I have an orinoco gold card that I'd like to use with WPA  under TC2.8.  I know, I could just go get modern hardware, but I'm trying to reuse older hardware that would just be thrown out otherwise and is perfectly serviceable with TC.

In any case, upon boot I get:

Now notice after card ejection and reinsertion:

Code: [Select]
orinoco_cs 1.0: firmware: requesting agere_sta_fw.bin
eth0: Attempting to download firmware agere_sta_fw.bin
(snipped)
eth0: WPA-PSK supported

So I'm confused.  Everything seems setup correctly, what am I missing to get it to load the agere_sta_fw.bin to load upon boot?

TIA

The fw is first probed for before your backup is restored. Doing a software eject/insert in bootlocal.sh should be enough:

pccardctl eject
pccardctl insert
The only barriers that can stop you are the ones you create yourself.

Creating an extension out of /lib/firmware will also work.
