2.8 and /opt/tce
« on: January 24, 2010, 06:10:45 PM »
In TC 2.8 there is an empty /opt/tce directory. Is it still usable? Are extensions loaded from there? I havn't tried....

I use /opt/tce when I remaster ISOs.

The script tce-setup loads *.tcz extensions from /opt/tce during the boot process; there is no need to prepare an onboot.lst file.

*.core.gz elements are not loaded from /opt/tce.

Loading from opt/tce occurs before any loading from a directory specified using the tce= bootcode.

/opt/tce is there only to support remasters and as such is not supported by the dynamic infrastructure.
It likely will be moved to the remastering script to prevent confusion with normal operations.
