Why does AppBrowser not connect automatically?

Is there a specific reason that does AppBrowser not connect automatically? Seems to me that since tcl's default mode is with wired internet connection going, that AppBrowser could be connected as soon as it is clicked. Seems pointless to have a menu item for something that is there by default.

Please make this the default mode?

Because you may be offline and have a local repository File -> Install Local.
