Saving Installed Apps
« on: December 29, 2009, 02:32:21 PM »
Greetings, my apologies in advance if this is referenced somewhere else on the forums, have been doing some searches without luck it would seem.

Setup: Tinycore ISO written to USB, booted.

Apps installed with TC App Browser:  vmware-view

Question:
What steps are needed to retain the vmware-view install and settings upon restart?

I am not new to the command line, there just seems to be a critical connection missing in my head that I could use a hand with.. Thanks in advance!

Answered my own question.  Now if there was just an easy way to convert the vmware-view .rpm to a package.  Could someone with more tinycore kung fu than me do it?

If it's redistributable, you can post in the "extension request" thread.

For creating extensions, there is an wiki article on that.

If there's a .deb, there's an script available in these forums (under programming & scripting) to convert those for personal use.
