Download extensions manually
« on: December 21, 2009, 03:25:50 PM »
I have installed TC on an old Panasonic Toughbook that has a modem but no ethernet adapter.  I have a Verizon usb760 3G dongle that I use with Ubuntu on my netbook and it works fine with proper configuration.  I am trying to get the modem or the 3G modem to work so that I can download extensions for TC or can I download them via a web browser or ftp and then copy them over to my TC Toughbook?

The preferred method is using the appbrwoser.

If you can't use this method it's also possible to download extensions with your webbrowser using this link: ftp://distro.ibiblio.org/pub/linux/distributions/tinycorelinux/2.x/tcz/

I would recommend using another machine with TC running on it, create a tce directory, download the desired extensions, then copy over that tce directory to the new machine.  That way you get all the files (.dep, .md5) as well as not miss any dependencies.
