Reuest for a small, light, fast image viewer like civ or gview or fotox, with slideshow capability.
Something smaller than gqview.

If you don't mind using the framebuffer, fbv in fb-tools can do slideshows. It's 17kb IIRC.

Some more criteria, I suppose..
Ability to display filename (somehow),
Ability to save/copyto.
Not necessarily the ability to select file to open.

Have been playing with various things like kwickshow etc, but need slideshow capability.
So far the best smallish thing seems to be Fotox for this purpose.

Also, Fotox almost provides an alternative for ImageMagick, for the purpose of viewing HUGE (~15MB) images, but it doesn't pan.
Mtpaint handles huge images better on RAM-challenged machines, and it pans. So does Gqview.

So, the plot here thickens.
There is no one-size-fits-all image viewer, and several are required for different purposes.
Gqview is probably the closest to an all-purpose viewer.

Having said that, I would like to request Fotox...  and Mtpaint and ImageMagick packages when you have nothing better to do. LOL.
