doh!
I don't know how I missed that one. Thanks.
I just came in to say that I have found the "small, light, fast image viewer". gpicview.
http://lxde.sourceforge.net/gpicview/
I may not be pretty, but I am persistent.

Has anyone else had an issue with mtpaint displaying a tool box over the main window at the TLH corner?
I can't move it, close it... anything, or access the menu toolbar.
Juanito:
You could try positioning the cursor over the window somewhere, holding down the <alt> key and trying to drag it away.
This works when a window title bar has gone off the top of the screen.

Hi all, I'm a first-timer here and LOVE Tiny Core!
I have a suggestion for an extension that I believe would *really rock* - apt!
Just imagine that - grab apt using a T.C. extension and you can instantly access the humungous Ubuntu repositories! Awesome! No need to download a huge ~690 Mb Ubuntu image - just grab Tinycore, grab the extension - done!
Thoughts..... ?

i don't know if roberts plans to do that. just today i was reading about using apt-get to make dsl extensions from packages in the debian woody repository. even then the idea was to create extensions, because using the apt environment "overwhelms" the free ram. it's more recommended for full installs, which tc avoids in its philosophy. also dsl is compatible (and only partially) with debian woody. installing apt in tc might just give you packages that perform in a sub-par way. but if it could work, and do so well, i'd like it too.

i think that's how you know it's a more recent version, i think i've experienced that with mtpaint in other environments too. if you can't move the window, try alt+f4 to close. (make certain some part of mtpaint is focused!)
