Updates to website.
« on: October 16, 2009, 01:31:45 AM »
Special Thanks go to Lee, who volunteered to help with some website updates.

The Downloads page http://distro.ibiblio.org/pub/linux/distributions/tinycorelinux/
and now we have our very own screenshots page http://tinycorelinux.com/screenshots.html

Many Thanks !!!

Lee: Nice job!  I think it is much better to host the screenshots right in the main website.

I have a very minor HTML issue to report about the tinycorelinux.com site.  I noticed this when testing out some of the really basic (OK, "primitive" ;)) web browsers.  Full browsers like Opera and Firefox are not affected by this issue, but things like Chimera2 are.

There are incorrectly-coded spacing characters in the banner/main links part of the web pages.  For example, the HTML has things like...

Code: [Select]
        <a href="http://tinycorelinux.com/faq.html">FAQ&nbsp&nbsp</a>
        <a href="http://forum.tinycorelinux.net/">Forums&nbsp&nbsp</a>
        <a href="http://distro.ibiblio.org/pub/linux/distributions/tinycorelinux">Downloads&nbsp&nbsp</a>

See the little &nbsp&nbsp strings?  When you have a chance to update the site again, could you please fix these up so they are closed with the proper semicolons (&nbsp;&nbsp;)? Thanks for your support!

Thanks to all of you.  Your active parts in the Tiny Core community really encouraged me to take a little more active part myself.

This was just found by a user in IRC.  The text of the Installation guide list cfdisk.tce and grub-0.97-splash.tce.

I have updated the Core Concepts webpage, http://www.tinycorelinux.com/concepts.html, with some input from Juanito. This will also replace "help" in the base. Comments, suggestions welcomed.

This is a minor issue but the pages are so streched out that even with a resolution of 1366x768 I get a scrollbar at the bottom.

Funny. This was with Firefox and Vista. At home with Tinycore and Opera at 1024x768 the scrollbar isn't there.
