apps audit marked for deletion?

Please remind me how the apps audit "marked for deletion" works.

If you select an application extension for deletion it will be marked for such and all unencumbered dependencies as well. You can mark one and then look at the marked list. You can select and report on dependencies to see relationships. Actual removal occurs upon shutdown.
