A simple text file /usr/local/tce.wbar controls what is displayed.

Im new to TinyCore and used the same file to remove icons on the wbar.  Upon restart they return.  Is there something I am doing wrong?

TC will recreate the file on reboot unless you have some sort of backup that will be restored. I have to confess I've not used any of the backups options but there are wiki/forum posts on what files control backup.

One other idea would be to simply not load wbar all together, this could either be achieve through backing up a modified .xsession file or simply passing the "noicons"  boot code.

The files that control what is backed up are:

/opt/.filetool.lst - files to include in the backup
/opt/.xfiletool.lst - files to exclude from the backup

The control panel "backup/restore" button with activate/deactivate the backup function.
