hey guys is it okey to post and post my questions here??
because i keep asking here but the topics are unrelated to each other....
how do i start a new topic?

anyway i was going to ask a question about some small media knowledge not problems hehe
(i just need some enlightenment)

Processor = P3
Memory = 64mb
im using Tiny Core 1.4.3 and TCZ

1.) xmms whenever i add songs, some times the names of the artist in the playlist has "unknown characters"

do i need to install something or edit? or its just the way it is?

NOTE: i only installed xmms-1.2.11 player not the devs,flac,musepack or do i need them......

2) in mplayer-nodeps when i play .avi or .mpg there perfect but when i play .wmv there choppy and the audio it out of sync?

do i need to install something? a codec maybe?

and also in all formats, .avi and .mpg when i play them in a minimal window there running smoothly but when i fullscreen its choppy?
is it maybe because i have a low memory=64mb?

2) graphic card acceleration would help, if you install Xorg you would get faster video

yup your right!!!!,found my answer a couple of days ago just like you said

i asked the question because i used a Processor=P3 with Memory=64MB and also tried it with Processor=Celeron maybe equivalent to a P2 with Memory=256MB,used the mplayer-nodep still in Tiny Core ver. 1

when playing .avi files theres no problem(except in fullscreen its a bit choppy) but when i played .wmv file even in minimal screen its choppy.....

but then i used a laptop Processor=Intel Centrino2 with Memory=4GB and Geforce 512MB
and played all the files that i was asking about, it all played so perfectly!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

so thats done hehehehe question solved;D

now my next will be the "unknown characters" in the artists playlist in xmms

will try the audacious player maybe ill find my answer there!!!!!!!

After all the setups and tinkering this newbie has completed all that I need!!!!!!!!!!!!!

from office, to media players, picture viewer, to editing pictures, its all there!!!!! but the most important thing was the net because I thought my 3g-usb was not supported but thanks to your forum its now working so damn well...............
