trouble with getFlash10.tce

getFlash10.tce doesn't work for me. This extension supplies a script named /usr/local/bin/getflash10.sh, and I would invite an expert to look over this script. It uses wget to grab a certain file from fpdownload.macromedia.com and then uses tar to extract the archive's lone file, libflashplayer.so. It tries to put this file into a directory that may or may not exist, namely, install_flash_player_10_linux, and in my case this produces an error message and no flash installation.

There are enough clues in the script that I was able to get the installation done manually using a few shell commands, but if somebody out there can make a few changes so the script "just works", I'm sure others would add their thanks to mine.

It is stated in the .info file:

               NOTE: You must have already downloaded the browser and OSS.
                You must have started the browser at least once!
                You must have OSS started with the sound on menu option.
                Then select getFlash10 from the Apps menu.

                If you already have your tce directory setup, then a flash9.tce
                will be installed there, otherwise it is in /tmp/tce/
.
                CAUTION: Flash10 requires gtk2 which is quite large.

Always read the info file for instructions on the extension's requirements.

Or, perhaps you are using a browser not currently support within the extension?
Currently, Opera, Minefield, Firefox, and Seamomkey are supported.

I see that the missing directory that you are talking about is a change on the Macromedia site.
Look for an update to the getFlash10.tce

There was an adobe flash release just posted with a firefox update  to 3.5.3. The unpacked tar.gz goes into the firefox/plugin directory.
