hello forum,

wow.... lots of free books..... super

books in the high street are real pricey....

i am unsure about how the web has matured over the
years and although you get city library's offering up digital
library's for all.....i am unsure about how it rolls when a person
wants to join an OPEN online library platform..... where they desire to upload
digital versions of their bookshelf for other users to view ...
(same as what city library's offer via their digital loaning platforms)

i believe it boils down to copyright versus exactly HOW a platform user views
your uploaded bookshelf and whether or not the viewers devices are storing
any of the copyright material in non volatile memory....etc....in other words
whether or not a device does NOT permanently store any of the literature
through powering off cycles

thx
c

and from @CNK referenced website, went to:

https://freecomputerbooks.com/searchEngines.html

and way down at the bottom was "Miscellaneous" and in it a link to:

https://www.lifewire.com/download-free-books-3482754

which naturally led to Project Gutenberg and of course Distributed Proofreaders:

https://www.gutenberg.org/

https://www.pgdp.net/c/

perhaps you'll find this gutenberg download count page fascinating:
(Only transfers from ibiblio.org are counted)
