Tablist manager
« on: December 20, 2024, 10:32:04 PM »
For forum festive gift,

There is a great free extension for Chrome and derivative web browsers like Vivaldi and the many others.

TABLIST MANAGER.........and in it's options you can set " Left side of screen for mouse"

Now you can get rid of your TOP CLUTTERED TAB BAR
and instead your tabs will appear whenever your mouse hits the left
side of your screen, then the BAR quickly disappears after your tab selection.......
A mouse wheel will scroll up and down your TAB LIST.....
otherwise, if you are without a wheel, then to reveal hidden tabs you  can simply GRAB the "last visible bottom tab entry" and gently drag it down revealing all the other tabs and then drop it at the bottom of the tab list....again.
The  same idea can be done at the top of the tab list for scrolling back up..... to reveal hidden tabs,.....

(..it's a responsive extension even on a 12 year old win 10 laptop )

...the extebsion just cleans up your browser interface...from "Tabs clutter" because you can simply hide that default "top tab bar" away........

.......or in say Vivaldi you can change that "top tab bar" to  just showing 2 tabs by selecting.....ENABLE HORIZONTAL SCROLLING in settings ......and that also gives you an arrow at the far right of your "top tab bar"  which upon right clicking it shows you the full tab list.
( use both the extension and that setting idea on Vivaldi for best results )

thanks
C

Hello forum,

TABLIST   =  a free browser extension

There is also THIS free extension for Chrome flavoured web browsers..........it opens your NEW TAB PAGE as a list of your existing Tabs in memory....( Opened or not)  ..........and also Bookmarks.

To arrange this extension, install it, then you must go into the Browser settings ( in say Vivaldi) and there is an option to "Have an extension" control your NEW TAB PAGE......tick it

In the extension, when you select a bookmark, it adds the webpage to it's list below in the page........and you click them THERE on their left icon.... to open or switch to the web page tab

You can PIN that extension tab page.......as a pinned tab..........then just click it to use it to navigate your other tabs

thanks

Hello Forum,

There is also another free extension that makes things  CLUTTER   free

An AUTO DISSAPPEAR   tabs   strip for   " chrome"

"tabtiles"   0.9.3  ver

https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/tabtiles/aaeapgfkbbbdpbfjmpcblemfajmkiddh?hl=en-GB&utm_source=ext_sidebar

1)   you get back some free screen REALESTATE ....nice
2)   Just leave it with the almost default settings except  tick the "AUTO HIDE"
so it AUTO SHOWS your tab strip when your mouse enters  (pointer enters)
3)  You can hide your browsers Regular tab strip........ in your browser settings

The way that it seemed to work best is to HOVER your pointer over the Revealed TABS & gently slide your pointer sideways WHILE ALSO ROTATING YOUR MOUSE WHEEL AT THE SAME TIME..........it will therefor always Reveal your entire tabs strip list.......

Thanks

Hello Forum

There is also another free ..... TAB STRIP AUTO REVEAL  //  HIDE  (on mouse pointer enter)..............extension.......... for chrome styled browsers.

it's called   TAB REVOLUTION. .........and works when your browser is in......... FULL SCREEN MODE..........

Some web browsers can allow you to still reveal other top screen dialogues even while in FULL SCREEN ..........Vivaldi can

https://www.crx4chrome.com/extensions/mogjioenfopfpfgbeblmoapkcfpijkkn/

it is quite a nice extension.........giving you screen Real-estate back..........about 20 or so tabs is fine....

For example,  my Vivaldi here shows a Large Address bar at top even while
in full screen.........it does it by using a keyboard shortcut for "address bar view" and hitting it when in Fullscreen...there are KB shortcuts for everything in Vivaldi

this REVOLUTION thing (tab strip ) then appears below that address bar... on mouse enter....( REV contains it's own address bar anyhow...so you may like to use that instead )

hope you may find it gets you a better web interface in chrome styled  web browsers.  (of course , you hide the original Vivaldi tab bar ) in settings
since my example above is about Vivaldi

i actually am using REV together with a SIDE STRIP TAB BAR extension too....
That over-all approach , gets you most of the useful features Vivaldi  offers for tabs.....but NOT by using Vivaldi's "actual tab bar" itself.....

Thx
C
