Scanner drivers

<< < (2/2)

Santos:
I may be necro-bumping but for anyone looking for a solution.

Use dCore x64. The Epson Scan program is only 64 bit.

Update the repo file first.

https://forum.tinycorelinux.net/index.php/topic,26594.msg173139.html#msg173139

Load the dCorePlus SCE extension to set up Xorg and Wifi.

Then load these with the -d flag so you can use the existing dependencies in the Plus SCE, or just load them from a list.

--- Code: ---apt
qtbase5-dev
libjpeg-dev
feh

--- End code ---

'feh' is an image viewer, not a dependency for Epson Scan.

Download the Epson Scan program:

http://support.epson.net/linux/en/epsonscan2.php

Once downloaded, extract the content and do: ./install.sh

The installer will complain about a folder not being found. I can't recall the exact folder, but the stdout will tell you the path, just do:

mkdir -p FOLDER_PATH

After that the install script will finish and you can use the scanner, even over WiFi if you're in the same LAN. I haven't tried USB but should work.

Tip: Verify you have checked 'transfer after compression' setting ON, it will save you a lot of time when scanning in high DPI (1200 max).

I took the idea from here:
