Scanner drivers
(1/1)
ukhupacha:
Hello,
I have an old laptop, I've been using it as a network printer.
I would like to know if it is possible to install the drivers for the printer and the scanner on such old laptop.
The printer scanner is a EPSON L3110 Series and it works with the Epson Scan 2 software (there is a package for debian)

Is there a way to install this on TinyCore or CorePlus?
Juanito:
It’s possible that it might work with the simple-scan extension.

You are running this old laptop under Windows, I assume?
I cannot make promises nor do I have a clue as to how old this software is, but there IS a DEB and RPM port.
Epson Scan 2

Thanks for answering, I'm using linuxlite on that laptop, it works ok but it struggles when trying to do some other works.
I was wondering if it is possible to make the Epson Scane 2 work on CorePlus or TinyCore, and how complicated could it be to switch to TinyCore/Coreplus and make the printer work.
Kindly

You're the only one who can determine that - I doubt any of us have the Epson unit you have to test with.
* Create a TinyCore USB stick and boot the laptop from it
* Using the first stick, use tc-install to install TinyCore onto a 2nd USB stick
* Boot the laptop with the 2nd stick and test functionality
* Search the forum for deb2tcz and follow instruction using the Epson DEB packageIf the above works with your printer/scanner you have answered your question.
