Video Codecs
« on: January 02, 2024, 01:01:33 PM »
Hi, when I open a page that plays a video (not YouTube, like my local TV station's online broadcast), I get an error that says I don't have the video codecs to play the video.

(Yes, I know, I could have asked on the previous post, but I want to make it as easy as possible for other people to find in the future)

Sorry you have to type in some more characters to your question... to get an answer.

Like, what Tiny Core linux version and what platform like PC or RasberryPI.
And what program ??

I suggest you to use VLC, that program have a lot of codecs.

OK, I'm using the latest version of TinyCore on PC (x86) and I don't know if VLC is the answer to my question.
As far as I know, VLC is used to play videos stored on a local disk (or a NAS disk), but I'm wondering how to solve problems with codecs when playing videos online.

It’s been while since I played a video via Firefox, but I seem to remember you’ll need the appropriate gst-plugins and libs loaded - starting Firefox from a terminal window should give some clues.

Could you add this information to the firefox-ESR.tcz info file?

Have you tried it out to check it's correct?
