Hi guys!
Well I’ve been trying to get a virtual pentesting lab up with VMWareESXi that’s available for arm64 for free under a trial period of 180 days. I got VMWare ESXi running and installed Kali Linux but I can’t find any vulnerable candidates for the arm64 architecture to test on. I have it running at the moment on a Raspberry Pi 4 with 8 GB of RAM. This version will not install if there is less than 4 GB of RAM on the system (It’s recommended to use the 8 GB version and with the Raspberry Pi 5 knocking on the door there is an even better candidate for this project coming soon). If there is anyone that would like to try I’ve attached the HOWTO as a PDF-file. It wasn’t easy since I had to make some ”hacks” to make it work but I’ve learned a lot. Usually I’ve been using VirtualBox for theese kind of things. The advantage to this approach is that you can controle and configurate this server remotely with any web browser (I think). To be able to learn how to use and configure this software that many big companies uses on huuuge servers would give especially young ones a good advantage on the IT job market. Hope someone likes it and it would be nice to know about it so some input about this would be very nice. A last thing. When you try to setup a VM use a live arm64 iso image at first. That will probably work pretty smooth. Kind regards,

PS I post this here since I love the RPi and I hope others do the same. DS
