Firefox has 8 hours extra in its clock TC 12x64
« on: April 02, 2022, 09:02:11 PM »
Hello

My issue started when I was trying to make back up based on time. So I decided to instead of going with UTC  as the TimeZone I just use mine: CST (Central America, at least according to Wikipedia)

But that makes the internal clock of TinyCore advance around 8 hours in the future.

Google's services (Drive, Docs, mail) always shows an incorrect time. And often got errors from CA Certificates being expired or in the future in Firefox.

noutc  boot code makes no difference.

What's the proper way of setting up my local time and time zone?

Thank you.

To setup the correct timezone you need to add the timezone boot command line parameter.

You can read how to do that in following links.

It's not entirely clear from your post, but if this issue is only happening in Firefox, and you have your system clock set to local time (noutc boot code), then you may find your solution in the guide which I recently posted describing the solution that worked for me.

Or if this is just a general problem with setting your time zone with the system clock in UTC time, then the links posted by patrikg should do fine.

Thank you.

I quickly checked out the posts both of you are referring to. I'll take a deeper look in the next days.

I'll be back with updates.

I'm back with updates.

It turns out that my problem was exactly the one you were having, @CNK. Kudos for your post! It was already there, waiting for me to put it into practice.

I cannot thank you enough, this issue was messing really bad with my online folders (Google Drive and the like), specially because I was so confused with due dates and records (modifications on documents and such).

@patrikg, I'll keep your links. Is always a good thing to have them and get a more deeper understanding of Tiny Core.

Thank you to all!
