All programming languages, known or unknown, are based on ASM.
The main problem is that the hardware infrastructure is closed source,
And the funny part is that for closed-source hardware, it's the dream of an open-source world utopia.
IMHO, now this is one of your best comments. The problems are :
1."we" need to abolish IP (intellectual property), which will not happen in baby-boomer capitalism era. We need an era without Microsoft or Apple OS. Maybe not even Linux is the future for OS, as long as developers are paid by the wrong team.
2.We need a open-CPU architecture. Shame that Intel. AMD and NVIDIA will follow us to the tomb. Arm, are you still alive?
3. And we need to kick the mathusalemic gnu-GCC compiler into obviation. Welcome LLVM and Co.
Summary: we talk about OPEN-source/design for hardware, software and compilers. Hm, a hard nut to crack when USA is printing petrol-money from thin air, like hell. But ... keep dreaming, it is good for soul.
